A Changing of Hands

This past week, as the Sun transitioned into Taurus and Venus celebrated her exaltation in Pisces, I made a huge transition into a sort of personal exaltation of my own.

No, not a second kid… at least, not a human one. But I am writing this in the afterglow of a new type of arrival. A changing of hands from one cultivator to another. A new business in a community I love, in a space that invites, handed from a person that I respect tremendously.

Yup… I bought a yoga studio in Moab. (Insert feelings of overwhelm, doubt and slight nausea here)

Moon River Yoga Collective is proud to be offering yoga, movement, mystic arts, wellness services…and who knows what else I decide.

That’s the fun of being the one who gets to make all of the decisions… Right

So what does this mean? Am I moving full time to Moab? What about Montana? What about Seattle? What about Yogabird Studios? Hmmm….  Leading an alternative and nomadic lifestyle often sounds a bit more glamorous and a lot less logistically challenging than it actually can be.  My deep love for all of the communities I am a part of makes it impossible to leave any of them for too long. And so, with tremendous gratitude for the support, encouragement and excitement of our communities, we continue to navigate life, and now businesses, in three states.

As for Yogabird Studios - well, that is and always will be, me. I’ll continue to keep my website yogabirdstudios.com updated with what I am personally offering, wherever I may be offering it.

Moon River Yoga Collective, while mine to operate, is for the community to shape. I’m looking forward to teaching when we are in Moab, but more so, I’m excited to create space for others to hold and offer their teachings and a place for the community to gather and grow. It is most certainly not mine, but rather ours

For those that have been practicing at Sundari Yoga, rest assured not much will change with our studio space. You’ll still get to practice with Star, I’ll be adding some offerings in May, and Elizabeth Lamoureux will be hosting a Yamuna Body Rolling series as well. You might feel some shifting energy from the back rooms - and if you notice a bearded man wielding construction equipment - say hi to Nate. Eventually, that will be a space available for us all, and a separate finished room that will be perfect for a massage therapist or wellness consultant to meet their clients.

If you’re a Moab local, I look forward to expanding our community together. To build on the strong foundation Star has formed. To evolve as individuals and as a collective into our own exaltation. (Group levitation, anyone?;)

If you’re reading this from outside of our red rock and river paradise of Moab, please accept this as our formal invitation for you to visit us here at the Moon River Yoga Collective.
